Milestones

1984 Startedwith 50 beds and facilities for General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, Dermatology and Physiotherapy. Started ChatarbhujLajpatrai General Hospital.

1985 Started Gordhandas Gupta Eye Hospital dded other facilities – Dental, Psychiatry, Neurology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Urology.Also started MahavirViklang (Free Foot) Kendra to provide artificial limbs to handicapped patients.

1986 Facilities further upgraded by adding EEG facility for Neurology and Yaglaser for Eye Surgery . This Laser facility was the first of it’s kind in India.

1988 Radiology services were upgraded by adding Ultrasound and Echocardiography facilities, Laproscopy Surgery was started by the Gynecology discipline and Pulmonary Function tests were started.

1990 The Institute was recognized as a Research Institute by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

1992

With the inauguration of the SumitradeviMithalal Heart Hospital in 1992 Super-specialities of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery facilities included Echo-color Doppler, Cath Lab, Cardiac Operation theatre for Open Heart Surgery and an intensive Care Unit.

The icing on the cake is the Smt. PiragdeviMadanlaRungta -28 bedded free hospital which caters to the needs of the poor patients. Here, all facilities are given free to the patients.

The construction of the New 9 storeyed building was completed and bed capacity increased to 275 from 90. The Ramsnehi Burns and Plastic Surgery Hospital and the SukhrajBabulalChikitsa Kendra were also inaugurated.

The Institute has 13 operation theatres, 275 beds, advanced radiological lab investigation facilities, Blood Bank, Endoscopy and EMG facilities.

1995 Started heJasrajAnyavMulti Purpose Laser Center.Also added facilities for Phaco Emulsification in the eye department, new Digiscope Lithotripter for Urology, 6 new Post operative beds for Cardiac Surgery and Neonatal Intensive Care for children.

2001 New state of the art 28 bedded Critical Care Unit was stated

2002 Singhi Institute of Nursing was accorder approval by the Govt. and Nursing Councils

2004

Renovated Lobby and Waiting Hall, Doctors consulting rooms and administrative offices were completed 

The Singhi Institute of Nursing building completed near Indira Bridge and inaugurated in 2004

2005

After the initial 3 years, when only 20 students were admitted to the Diploma Course, 40 students are being admitted .
The X-ray system was replaced with computerized digital X-ray system. A new multislice spiral CT Scanner has been commissioned. New Echo and Color Doppler facilities are added, Critical Care Unit is further upgraded, new Laproscopy Surgery and Neuro surgical instruments have been provided.
Started the DOT center for Tuberculosis in collaboration with WHO. Started the Air Pollution Related disease diagnostic center (APRDC) in collaboration with GAIL.
